Frequently asked

Answers to common questions.

For advice based on your circumstances, contact Rahul directly.

How much can I borrow?

It depends on your income, commitments, deposit, credit profile, property and the lender’s criteria. Rahul can help you estimate a realistic range before you set a property budget or make an offer.

How much does mortgage advice cost?

There may be a fee for mortgage advice. The precise amount will depend on your circumstances and will be agreed with you before proceeding. The estimated fee is £299, payable at application.

What types of mortgage lenders can Rahul consider?

RG Financial Services can consider mortgages from a range of high-street banks, building societies and specialist lenders. The lenders and products available can change and may not include every lender in the market. Rahul will explain the range he can consider and any relevant exclusions before making a recommendation.

Can appointments take place remotely?

Yes. Telephone and video appointments are available across the UK, with daytime and evening appointments and weekends by arrangement.

When should I start a remortgage review?

Around six months before your current deal ends is a useful starting point. This can provide time to compare a product transfer with suitable remortgage options, consider fees and any early repayment charge, and prepare for the next step. The right timing depends on your mortgage and circumstances.

What documents might I need?

Common documents include identification, proof of address, bank statements and payslips. Self-employed applicants may also need accounts, tax calculations and tax-year overviews; contractors may need a current contract. The exact evidence depends on your circumstances and the lender.

Will using the calculator affect my credit record?

No. This website calculator provides an illustration and does not run a credit search.

Why discuss protection with a mortgage?

A mortgage is a long-term commitment. A protection review can consider how repayments and household costs might be managed if health, income or family circumstances change.
